. . . but, I go by Emmie. I grew up in Colorado but was so lucky to spend a lot of my summers on Nantucket. It's so special to me and I always have felt that I am part of the Nantucket community. In 2021 my family bought a house there - and like a lot of people in Nantucket - we wanted to give it a name. When we were sitting around throwing out ideas I blurted out, "We're not local, but . . . we're lowkey local." It stuck.

The more I thought about it, the more I felt like lowkey local actually means something.  Like me, there are people who grew up coming back to this special place every year, and even though they don’t live here they feel like they are part of this island.  It’s a second home. I wanted to create something to pass that along.  I also wanted to find a way to give back to this place that has become a big part of me.

Nantucket Conservation Foundation

So, I decided to start my business!  I found these amazing, super-soft hoodies and picked out colors that remind me of Nantucket.  We also made 2 logos – one in a circle shape and one with the island coordinates and I picked out some fun embroidery colors.  I love them.  I also created decals, which look great on a car, a Stanley, laptop, or whatever! And because I want to give back to Nantucket, I decided to donate a part of my sales proceeds to the Nantucket Conservation Foundation.  They do so many great things for Nantucket that I wanted to help too.  I hope you love the hoodies (and decals!) and hope you can help us – help Nantucket – and get a hoodie and a decal – thank you!
